Microsoft seem to be serious with their new browser version of IE.

IE9 Seems to load faster than previous versions. It also displays websites content properly...
I also noticed that when using IE8  while surfing webwiz guide forums (wwf alpha) the page takes so long to load... however on IE9 it loads fast/normally like it would with Firefox.

They need to bring themselves up to speed with Firefox is my answer - okay so IE9 looks good, and as it should be, but whilst Microsoft loaded us with IE7, IE8 they probably lost stacks of ground on the far advanced and user friendly Firefox browser

I agree with MrTWS.. The problem that they are facing is that other web users have found something stable in Firefox.. and since IE has been so far behind with the makers of Firefox that it will take them along time to catch up when considering firefox is enhancing their product even more.. I think they are quick to jump into IE9 as a result of firefox's changes in websurfing.. I hope that Microsoft doesnt screw this one up as it might change how people surf the web entirely.. The best thing that Microsoft has going for them is Windows 7 they finally were listening to their customers..

I find Firefox to slow these days. What you need is a browser as fast as Google Chrome.

How does IE 9 compare with the speed of Chrome?

Google Chrome is fast, but there are so many things to dislike about it... and ironically, YouTube, a Google product, doesn't work well with Chrome!

According to the test stats on the Microsoft site, IE9 outperforms both, Google Chrome and Firefox. Reviews by http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2361444,00.asp" rel="nofollow - PC Magazine and other sources were all positive. Microsoft has re-written the browser's JavaScript engine, added HTML 5 support, and other things.

The review sounds good. About time Microsoft produced a good browser.

It's somewhat surprising, especially after all  these years, that there are still "browser wars"  going on.
I haven't tested IE9 yet, have been using FF for awhile now, but Chrome has been growing on me.

Firefox is slow and buggy. Won't use IE because it's such a large target for hackers.

Chrome for me! Firefox for Web Development.

I just reinstalled Google Chrome, and found an extension that will likely make me stay away from IE for good! That extension is " http://https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/hehijbfgiekmjfkfjpbkbammjbdenadd?hl=en-US" rel="nofollow - IE Tab ". What that extension allows you to do, is:

"Use Internet Explorer to display web pages in a Chrome tab. Some sites can only be displayed using IE, and with this extension you can now see those sites without leaving Chrome. Great for web developers who want to test the IE rendering engine, users who use sites with ActiveX controls, and users who want to use the explorer view for local files (i.e. file:// URLs)."

My biggest concern when deciding if i should switch from IE to an alternate browser has been ActiveX controls, something that I use fairly often to access sites that use web-based VoIP / voice chat content. This Chrome extension has made that possible within Chrome! Goodbye IE Thumbs Up

I have to admit Chrome has been growing on me. Though the new Firefox version that allows 'skin' changing on the fly has me on the fence LOL

I appreciate the efforts of Microsoft for Internet Explorer 9. But I don't think so that we can compare internet explorer 9 with Mozilla Firefox. Mozilla is still best.

I use FF but I wouldn't call it the best without specifying what it was best at. Speed, Reliability, Security, Features, Presentation Accuracy, etc.

I believe much of what made it a superior browser has been overtaken by other browsers.

Firefox has better stability but IE is catching up. Chrome's easy to use as well. I guess the question is do we really need these many browsers on the market? :-)

I don't think so. I am not agree that internet explorer is fast from previous version. It can be fast from the old versions. But we cannot compare with Mozilla Firefox. Mozilla is always best and too fast.
