I use WWF as a means of support for my users. There are some instances in which they need to post private information.
I would like them to be able to post new topics in a forum section. I would make it so that only the original author of the thread and moderators can view the post.
Is this possible?

You could enable post approval in that forum so that posts remain hidden and can only be viewed by the admin or a moderator, but you would not be able to have it so only the topic starter can view the replies.

Bruce:
Thank you for your reply. That sounds like a potential partial solution. I would like to request that this functionality be added to the feature request list.
Thank you again for you reply!

The other way around this - for now - would be to setup individual forums for specific users, and password protect each individual forum - problem would be there would be a lot of passwords for you to have to remember

Thanks for the reply. I do need to implement a ticket system, but the one I want is SQL Server based and I'm not excited about paying the monthly MS SQL Server fee :(

I was originally wondering why you would want such a feature as it has never been requested before in 8 years, but now you mention that you want to use Web Wiz Forums as a Ticket System I can understand where you are coming from.
It would not take to much to include features in Web Wiz Forums so it could be used in a Ticket system in this way, and will certainly be placed on a 'todo' list, but as it would require database changes it would need to wait for the next major release as database changes are not made for minor releases.

Why not consider switching over to Web Wiz as your hosting provider? I did and I am very pleased with the services available. I believe you can get hosting (including a SQL Server databases) at very good rates. The http://www.webwiz.net/webhosting/windows_web_site_hosting.asp" rel="nofollow - starter web hosting works out (currently from £6.95 a month or £69.95 a year - $10.78 or $108.48 in US Dollars)
You would get included the Web Wiz Premium Edition forum software included, plus 2 SQL Server 2008 and 2 MySQL 5.1 databases as part of the whole package (no extra charges such as monthly server fees
