Subject : Creating a password protected folder
Hi everybody,
I have just set-up accounts on WIZ Web and Wiz Forum hosts.
On my web site I have to place documents in a secure area to be looked at only by members. How do I do this ? Using the secure file system ? I tried but can not see a password request when I try o get to the file. If I don't put a document in the file I get a '404' error. If I put a document like default, I SEE the document thus the directory is NOT password protected.
Regards,
Kevin

Please create a support ticket from your Client Area account to make sure that you have all the settings correct and that you have followed the instructions on how to setup Password Protected Directories correctly.

Hi Bruce,
The difficulty is that I cannot see where the instructions are (the
help files ) ! Also, I don't know exactly what the end result will be.
I am looking at allowing also various people look at the same directory
and information therein (including PDF docs etc. ).
Thanks,
Kevin

Sorry Kevin the instructions that I was referring to were the instructions given when setting up the Secured Folders in your Control Panel, such as changing ASP.NET to use Integrated Pipeline. This is why I asked if you could create a support ticket as this would allow us to have a look at your account to see if you had correctly set up your website to work with Secured Folders.
You should have also received an email with information on your Hosting Space when you signed up which includes links to further documentation on using the Control Panel. If you have missed this then you can download the Control Panel documentation from the bottom of the page below:-
