I have a user who just signed-up with this user name: áwøl

I'm able to work with the user in just about every way except for the search screen. I hit the drop-down on any of their posts and try to "find members posts". The name transforms to this: Ã¡wÃ¸l

I tried to paste-in their correct name, but I only get the alteration. Short of forcing the user to change their name, is there anything I can do? If not, the search screen should be fixed, or the special characters need to be filtered at the point of registration.

The name is also transformed to Ã¡wÃ¸l in email notifications and probably other places that I haven't yet discovered.

I'm going to change the person's name.
