Is it possible for a standard user to delete their own account? I have been under the impression that only an Admin could delete forum user accounts, but I saw something strange on my forum this evening. A new user showed up in the list of active users. I clicked on the user name and saw that they were browsing one of our forum topics. Later, I clicked back on the username that was still shown as being active, but I received a yellow error that said something like the user account was not able to be found. Now, the user is no longer being shown as active, and it's not showing up in the Memberlist.

The account did exist. I saw it. It's not there now, though. I'm the only Admin on the forum and I didn't delete it. How could the user have deleted their own account?

Only an admin can delete an users account, and even that is not simple to try and discourage people form deleting accounts.

HTTP is a stateless protocol which means that the connection is dropped as soon as the page is downloaded. So that items like an active users list can work you have to use allot of workarounds which do not give entirely accurate information, so the information in the active users list is not accurate or reliable.
