I'm running Version 9.64 (Access Database); however, I've had this problem through many previous versions. When I try to run the Compact and Repair database utility, I get the following error:

Database backed up to:-
d:\webs\lmbp\forumdata\admin\database\wwlmbpforum-backup.mdb

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e17'

Database already exists.

What do I have messed up in my config?

Compact and repair tool does not work with all servers. You may find you need to download the Access database and use the compact and repair tool for within MS Access itself.

You should also look at using the SQL Server or mySQL versions as the Access version is not supported in the production environment as Access is not able to cope with the demand a forum places on the database backend.
