I upgraded from version 8 to 9, and all looks fine.
During the upgrade, I installed the version 9 files into a dir called "forumnew".
When all was set up and tested OK, I renamed this folder to just "forum", but then I got problems.

The default page looked like a mess. No colors and no icons, and the words didn't appear where they should.
Renaming the directory it back to "forumnew" brought all back to normal again.

What's the cause of this problem ?

To increase performance many forum settings that do not change often are cached.

What you need to do after moving the forum is to in to the admin area and update the skins page so it can find the new URL to your forums CSS files.
