I have just installed the latest 9.69 version of WebWiz on a site I helping my friend out with. All seems to have gone fine so far (SQL Server Database setup etc). Users can register and join etc...

 

But...

 

When anyone tries to create any post the following message appears:

 

Regardless of time logged in etc... I have looked on here but can't find anyone with the same issue.

 

For additional information the site is running in a frammed window (although this can be changed if needed).

 

Do you have any ideas or have seen this before?

You should also try reinstalling the original files again as many errors like this are due to file corruptions or modifications to the forum code.

The site can be viewed at: http://www.ngrmotocross.co.uk" rel="nofollow - http://www.ngrmotocross.co.uk - But the whole domain is running in a sub folder of my own site http://www.davetye.com" rel="nofollow - http://www.davetye.com  -

 

Windowed or not makes no difference... Have done a full reload and this too had made no difference.

Are you using some unusual mapping or masking to the directory that you have installed the forum within?

No unusual masking or mapping as far as I am aware, although it could be related to how the site was setup and URL forwarded by FastHosts.

 

The forum exists at : http://www.davetye.com/ngr/forum/" rel="nofollow - http://www.davetye.com/ngr/forum/

This can also be accessed by typing http://www.ngrmotocross.co.uk" rel="nofollow - http://www.ngrmotocross.co.uk in to the browser. This then redirects to davetye.com URL in a framed window. (Created using the URL Forwarding options provided by FastHosts where the ngrmotocross.co.uk domain is held).

 

When creating the initial forum etc and mapping to the database I accessed the site for setup via the NGRMotocross.co.uk domain rather than via the http://www.davetye.com/ngr/forum" rel="nofollow - www.davetye.com/ngr/forum address, could this have caused confusion in the setup process?

 

My feeling here is that the best option may be to recreate the blank forum from scratch in a new folder on my PC unzipped from a fresh download from your site. Remove and recreate the SQL database on the webserver again. Upload all in to place and setup the site again totally from scratch. All this to be done and tested prior to the forwarded URL being implimented as an option (Framed or otherwise). I will give this a go and let you know what I find. :-)

It would seem that you are trying to get two websites out of one by using framed masking to point to a folder on another domain. This simply would not work.

The old saying you get what you pay for is often right, no where more so than in the hosting world, so in this case you may just need to dig that little bit deeper and pay for a decent host for your new website ngrmotocross.co.uk

 

Quite understand the situation with the hosting but for an exceptionally low traffic results reporting website for a local motocross series it seems this is an adequate solution now it is behaving corretly. The NGR Series is run by volenteers on a very tight budget hence this option was used as a quick fix. Whilst not ideal it will support the site for an initial period prior to it perhaps looking to stand alone in the future.

 

Don't suppose you happen to know a good hosting company do you? ;-)
