Hi All,

I'm using web wiz forums v9.70, clean installed.

Connected to MS-SQL 2005 in TimeZone-A
Web Server running Win 2003 Enterprise in TimeZone-B
Client side using IE 8 on both WinXP / Win7

Bug in v9.69 where users are unable to login due to expired sessions caused by different times between database and web server has been addressed. Clap

However, in v9.70, after logging in successfully, I am unable to post a new topic. A popup says the session has expired and that I need to click 'refresh' on my browser. Confused

Can anyone confirm this is a genuine bug and that its not just my system?

With the latest 9.70 version all dates are generated on the web server, rather than getting the database server to generate dates. This should prevent session errors when using different time zones for web and database servers.

Have attempted to replicate this in the lab setting the database server to be in time zones both ahead and behind that of the web server and where unable to replicate the error.

We were able to replicate the error using 6.69 by setting the database server in a time zone behind that of the web server, but were not able to replicate it in 9.70.

We also monitored the date fields in the database and found that while 6.69 would set dates that used the database server time, that with 9.70 all dates were set using the web servers time.

Many Thanks Bruce! Thumbs Up
It turns out to be a missing file that got corrupt during the upload to my web server. It was also a coincidence that it was the same file that affected the "new topic" posting session lol.

Hello Bruce -

We just upgraded from 8.x to 9.70 and are having the same popup error messages as the OP when trying to post new topic: "Your session has expired. Click 'refresh'..."

We're running on Win2003 server, with SQL Server 2008. I have tried posting on IE, Firefox, Safari, and all give the same error. I even tried to logout/login multiple times, but nothing helps.

I've checked to make sure all files are on the server, so missing/corrupt files does not seem to be the issue.

Can you please help?

Thanks!

Looks like I figured out the problem. The header.asp include file was modified for a custom look and the javascript call to "includes/default_javascript_v9.js" was removed. Adding this back in seems to have resolved the problem.

Apologies for the false alarm!
