Hi, it seems like the search functionality for the quick search does not return any posts older than 90 days.  Is there a way to change this default?  I realize you can do an advanced search but my users are pretty lazy...  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!  Bob

It is actually set to 6 months, rather than 90 days. You can change this by opening search.asp  and changing the line below:-

<input name="AGE" type="hidden" id="AGE" value="6" />

If you change it to that below it will go back for 1 year:-

<input name="AGE" type="hidden" id="AGE" value="7" />

However, you can not set it any more than that as it is not supported and you would hit performance issues with your forum when searches are being done.

Not sure what you mean that it is not supported?  I am using this forum as a data repository for a relatively small population of users, 500 or so.  So any posts that are made and older than 1 year will be lost?  Thanks again for your help.

By not supported, it means that any other values will not work in the quick search box.

You would need to use the advanced search to search for posts outside the range of the quick search, so posts older than 1 year would not be lost, but require a full search.

The number of members you have has no bearing on post searches, as it is the number of posts within your forum system that influence post searches as 500 members could create over 1 million posts.
