The default.asp page does not work from 9.71 - 9.73 (9.72 Version I do not know, because I have not) in mobile version. I had to copy the version 9.70 default.asp to make it work.

There are no known issues with the mobile view in 9.71 or 9.73. I regularly use forums running Web Wiz Forums 9.73 using mobile devices without any problems.
There is new text used in the mobile view since 9.71. It sounds to me that you are using an outdated language file that does not include the new text for the mobile view added in 9.71.
You would need to edit your language_files\language_file_inc.asp file and add in the new text added since 9.70:-
