Hello,  I setup WebWiz a few months ago, but we haven't utilized it yet.  Unfortunately, we cannot remember what the admin password was, so I went through the password reset process by editing the tblAuthor table in the database.  I still cannot get into the administrator console after resetting the password.  I did have active directory authentication setup.  Any ideas why the password reset function would not work?

When Active Directory integration is enabled you need to login directly to the dmin area by going to the admin.asp page in your browser.

I attempted to login directly to the admin.asp page, but I get:
The Username or Password entered is incorrect.
Please try again.

It won't access my domain administrator credentials or the admin credentials in the tblAuthor database table

It's not possible to read in from Active Directory (AD) what permissions a an AD user so Web Wiz Forums can not tell the difference between AD users, so your AD Domain Admin account would be seen the same as any other account.

You need to use the built in admin account of web wiz forums to login to the admin area when AD integration is enabled.

Due to the more complex way AD integration works I have a feeling that if you have forgotten your admin login that you will have to start again with a fresh install as you may not be able to get in to the admin area otherwise now that you have forgotten the password and have also edited the database.

Reading your post this has nothing to do with this previous poster on Active Directory.

You should create a new post on this completely unrelated issue.
