I am the website editor for my local football club and we use the Web Wiz software version 9.03 for our club's forum.

We have always allowed unregistered users to view the forum but not allow them to post on it.

Recently the forum has stopped allowing this and only allows you to view it if you are a registered user.

It seems to have coincided with a problem when we had some roogue posts and I went into the control panel and blocked a couple of IP addresses.

I don't believe I changed anything other settings.

Please can anyone advise me how to reset the forum so that it once again allows unregistered users to veiw the forum?

Blocking IP's does not block access to viewing posts. I suspect the issue is that you have removed permission for the Guest account to Access forums.

In the admin area go to the Groups admin section  and click on the Guest Group and make sure that it has the 'Access' column checked for all forums you want Guests (unregistered users) to access.

9.03 is also about 4 or 5 years old and has known security vulnerabilities, you should look at upgrading your forum to the latest 9.x or better still the latest 10.x version to ensure your forum is secure.

Thank you for your reply.

However, I had already checked the Groups admin section and Guests are set to be able to view the forum but NOT post.

I will look into upgrading to the latest version of the forum and I will take advice from our website hosting company to make sure there will be no compatablity problems.

Thanks for your help.
