Below is the error code I get when I attempt a fresh install before I attempt to upgrade. I checked the troubleshooting section but nothing helped.  An error initialising Global Variables from database. Please contact the Forum Administrator. Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_getForumConfigurationData()_read_global_variables File Name:- global_variables_inc.asp Forum Version:- 10.03 Error details:- Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'tblSetupOptions', database 'TESTWWFTEST', schema 'dbo'. |

The error response from the server gives you your answer:- The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'tblSetupOptions', database 'TESTWWFTEST', schema 'dbo'. The error is saying that you do not have permission on the database.
