Hey there, im new to WebWiz forums. I have just taken over looking after a site which has been hosted with you guys for the past 3 years, the old admin saddly is no longer around. I have never dealt with .asp before so im very much learning from the start.

What i need is a mod that will make a new image display at the top of different forums. Example:

Forum 1 displays this banner:

http://i.imgur.com/xzV6Q.jpg

Forum 2 displays this banner:

http://i.imgur.com/izj2E.jpg

Hope you understand what i mean, we have forums for advertisers and they need their own banner displaying at the top of their own section.

Thanks.

If you only want to display a header image for each advertiser rather than an actual advert banner, then a tutorial I wrote to http://www.s2h.co.uk/wwf/tips/look/change-banner-for-forums.asp" rel="nofollow - Change the banner for forums may be of some help.

How ever, based on the screenshots in your post, this would change the forum logo rather than add a new image, but it could be adapted relatively easily to suit your needs.

Hi Scotty, thanks for your reply.

Yes, i did check your tutorial out, and even had it running, but its not what im after so removed it. I just need the banner at the top to change per a different forum (Like in the images above) not the actuall site logo. I had a little play with trying to make it work for what i needed but had no luck, with fear of messng things up and causing long term damage i put it all back to default.

Any chance of you taking a look for me?

Thanks.

In my tutorial, instead of adding the following line:

<% strTitleImage = HeaderImage(intForumID,strTitleImage) %>

Add the following to the bottom of the "includes/status_bar_inc.asp" (or similar - dont know the file name off top of head):

<%
     If HeaderImage(intForumID,'') <> "" Then
          Response.Write("<p align='center'><img src='" & HeaderImage(intForumID,'') & "' /></p>")
     End If
%>

Other than that, the rest of the tutorial should be fine

Hi Scott,

I done exactly has you told me above. But the forum then returns with a blank white screen and this message:

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03ea'

Syntax error

/forum/includes/status_bar_header_inc.asp, line 151

If HeaderImage(intForumID,'') <> "" Then
--------------------------^
Thanks.

Sorry, I've been doing a lot of PHP lately.

Try this instead:

<%
     If HeaderImage(intForumID,"") <> "" Then
          Response.Write("<p align='center'><img src='" & HeaderImage(intForumID,"") & "' /></p>")
     End If
%>
