Hello,

I have been asked to play the role of a Network Administrator at my work and learning as I go — not a great combination.   My question may sounds pretty trivial and I believe I know the answer, but would like to clarify before I proceed with my task — you may find yourself chuckling a bit, I know I am Smile.

We have a testing Windows 2008 Server and now we would like to convert the computer to windows 7.  Before wiping the computer clean, are there any steps I need to take before proceeding.  For example does the product key needs to be deactivated - like Adobe products - to be able to use it on another machine down the road.

With the numerous of times I had to format my personal computer, at home, I am thinking the answer is "No", but again I am using Windows XP, Visa, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 & 2008 may be a little different.

Now once you dry your eyes from a good chuckle, I appreciate an reply.
