I'm curious how many people who use WWF tailor it heavily for their sites? I've rather integrated it tightly on a diabetes peer support site I've been working on for a few months now. Great for the site. Not so great since I really like the look of the upgrades/new features in v7 cf v6.34.

Anyone else stuck in this situation? Do I gird my loins and redo the effort or stick? Is there a better way for me to go about this if I do end up redoing the effort?

And can anyone tell me if there are any real security or major critical reasons why I should go through that effort to upgrade?

ps: Can I make one suggestion that I personally prefer and might be nice to have: see where the page jump is a select with the page number in it? I prefer the first | previous | 1 | 2 | 3 | next | last idea. Think it'd be possible to make the choice of style an option?

I have done a major integration with my site and I don't expect to do another upgrade for a long while. It's just not worth the time and effort. I had about 2 weeks into the integration when v7.01 was released and I crapped what I was doing and started work on v7.01 integration which took about 2 weeks for major integration and then another week for minor tweaks.

I have always been one to do things for myself and will probably write a SQL Server board before the end of this year as it's been something that I have been wanting to do forever.

I changed the paging system for my forums as well, but there is a MOD that does this.

There are a number of important new security features in version 7, including, improved security filters to strip out malicious code from posts, improved X-site scripting protection, all passwords are now 160bit encrypted to prevent hackers getting hold of your passwords, checks to make sure someone isn't posting form data from a remote site, and a few other security fetaures.
