Users are unable to watch YouTube videos embedded into posts on the forum. This seems to be happening after the v10.11 update. It happens to be affecting WWF on the WebWiz Guide site as well.

Seems to be working fine:-

If you are not seeing a YouTube video in this post it could be an issue with your browser.

The iPhone does not support Flash and so would not be able to display YouiTube embedded content with uses Flash.

Bruce,

YouTube videos can still be seen on iPhone through Safari. YouTube or Apple have full support for this on iphone, im assuming through HTML5 or some other way.
We didn't experience this issue prior to the upgrade, and I can get you screen shots right from iPhone for both versions of the forum, 10.3 and 10.11.

[Edit]: here are the screenshots:

Version 10.3 (no issues viewing YouTube posts on iPhone through Safari)

Version 10.11 (Problem viewing YouTube videos embedded into forum posts)

The way YouTube videos are embedded has not changed in 10.11, the only thing that has changed is the URL for the YouTube content from www.youtube.com to www.youtube-nocookie.com if you have the EU Cookie Law Compliance enabled in your forum.

The www.youtube-nocookie.com is a new URL from YouTube that does not set cookies so that the embedded YouTube content complies with the EU directive on setting cookies.

Bruce,

I disabled the EU Cookie Law Compliance on the forum and it works ok now. I guess I don't need this EU Cookie thing on my forum since it's US-based, do I?

I beleive they are bringing in simular laws in the US, but you would need to check.

Have been looking in to this and it would appear YouTube's no cookie domain at  www.youtube-nocookie.com  and it appears at the present time does not serve content in HTML5 format required for Apple devices.

Well, thanks for looking into it... at least we know what the issue is at this point, which is not a WWF issue, but is more of a YouTube/Apple issue. Hopefully, YouTube will add HTML5 support to the www.youtube-nocookie.com domain soon.

Thanks for all your help.
