I'm not sure what you mean, but V10 is far better than V8. It has far better performance enhancements than V8, is far more secure, and has more features.

I cannot think of anything that you could do in V8 that you cannot do with V10. What features are you missing?

Version 10 is not super bad, I miss only the overview, in version 10 you need a menu, a message you want to edit, hide and with version 8 you have all the buttons under each post stand.

And if you are logged in as admin there in version 8 is an icon for each item where you can click to a board to conclude or renew with version 10 is also a menu in the board itself.

If I could I would have liked this version Chosen, I myself am on a forum Where They Have Been 10 years working with this version and everything works fine no problems!
These are the buttons that I miss:

I have all files from version 8 yet.
But if I can incorporate these features in version 10 I have been satisfied, is that possible?

Is it possible that http://i44.servimg.com/u/f44/11/54/28/73/naamlo56.png" rel="nofollow - - clickable - menus to adjust buttons as in version 8?

You would have to have a good knowledge of ASP and HTML to change them to buttons, as it would mean moving around a lot of code.

Could you explain to me how to do that? I have that knowledge but would like to have those buttons! I would be very happy if you want to help me here.

What I mean is you would need to have the knowledge, as that is what would help you do it.

There is far to much work involved for you to simply tell you how it can be done, you would need to understand it your self.

And you do not have that knowledge?

I think what Scotty is saying is that it is a massive amount of work that would take several hours to make the changes if you are an ASP coder. It would take days to try and explain how to make the changes to someone who does not know ASP coding.

There are no plans at present to bring back the version 8 interface, but if we have lots of people ask for it then will look in to it.

However, as the new drop down interface that was bought in over 5 years ago with version 9 that replaced the button style version 8 interface and not had any one else ask to go back to the old interface I think you might be on your own with this request.

@Bruce, You probably still somewhere an upgrade from version 8.03, or am I the only one perhaps but seems to me that if one asks that this should be possible. The only thing I ask is an upgrade and that me messages, paragraphs, parts become completely transferred.

It would not be economically viable to maintain a custom version 8 trunk of Web Wiz Forums just for yourself given the many thousands of hours of development time that would need to go in to maintaining and developing a separate version 8 trunk.

Version 10 has the same features as version 8, and more. As version 10 has more features buttons in version 8 were moved to menu items to make the interface less cluttered and also allow for the adding of extra options to support the new features.

If we carried on just adding buttons like in version 8 the interface would be so cluttered by now it would be impossible to use. For example a typical topic has over 12 options, plus another 16 for each post in that topic.

A user looking at a page with 10 posts would have over a 172 buttons on that page and would be overwhelmed.

The page would also put more strain on the server with over 172 extra connections to download buttons making slower loading times and higher bandwidth usage.
