Hello; I have tried to upload files in my forum; and most do upload without an issue; but others are throwing an error message stating the image did not pass the security scan process.

I know that there is nothing to risk with the images in question; and would like to know how I can change the strictness of the scanner, or disable it all together if need be.

Can anyone help?

You should turn off the 'Upload Image/File Scanning' from the upload settings page in the admin area.

This feature was necessary around 5 years ago when versions of IE from that time would execute code hidden within images. This check is not needed these days unless you have allot of people using old versions of IE.

As images now often contain XML code with information on where and when the image was taken is likely to produce false positives.
