Hi all,

We are currently using licensed forum version 10.14 and we are having such a problem. This problem occurs only when a specific user posts a message on the forum. For the other users this problems doesn't happen. I have taken a screenshot from the user's private message. In the first pictur you can see the problem clearly. Strange unreadable text. When I mark the text it becomes readable (second part of the image) but definitely this is not the user intended to send. I guess there is a mistake in the code. Most probably we did something wrong but what I didn't understand is why this happens only for a specific user and not the others. Do you have any comment on this? Thank you.

This will be caused by one of the following below on your members computer injecting code in to the editor:-

1. Internet security software
2. Virus or malware
3. Badly behaved browser blugin

Your member would need to modify their system in order to stop what ever is injecting the code in to their posts. They could also disable the WYSIWYG Editor in their forum profile and just use standard text area.

Yes - if it's a problem with one single user, then the problem is local to that user.
They have a problem with their browser, or a plugin in the browser, etc.
For garbled text, it's often a video driver or a combination video driver issue and browser issue -  the two don't like each other. (we have a similar issue at work as far as garbled text - Excel spreadsheets appear garbled, but each time the user tries to select the garbled text to show us, it clears up! Looking at the user's Windows even logs, I noted a whole lot of errors and warnings related to video and video memory, etc. The problem is that the HP computer is old enough now there are no new video drivers, it's not well supported after 4 years.)
If it was your code or the "forum code" then others would experience the same issue.
The forum code doesn't discriminate.
