Hi guys

I've been using XP for a while and decided to upgrade to Windows 7.  I use the PC to test my website which includes a WebWiz forum and ASP-driven site.  The development server has IIS 7.5 installed but I can't seem to get it working as I get a database error for the forum and also my site.  I know the connection string is correct (works fine on the live server) so not sure why the scripts aren't connecting to the remote MySQL database.

I've downloaded the mySQL ODBC drivers and installed them on the machine, so not sure why this error is appearing.

The error message on both the forum and server logs are the same:

Database Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Server Error:-
80004005|[Microsoft][ODBC_Driver_Manager]_Data_source_name_not_found_and_no_default_driver_specified

Any ideas on what else could be causing this (eg. firewall, permissions?)

In order for Classic ASP to work correctly it needs to be able to access 32bit drivers and components.

In order to do this edit the application pool for the website in IIS and set 'Enable 32-Bit Applications' to True.

Thanks for the reply Bruce but I'm only running a 32bit version of Windows 7 Pro, so don't see this option.

You have installed the mySQL ODBC Driver?

Silly me ... I've just realised the problem - so sorry for the wild goose chase.

I installed the ODBC v5.2 driver but my script was referring to v3.51.  All good now.
