I believe suspended users should not show as the The Newest Forum Member, also they should not be shown in the membership list that regular users see, they are suspended for a reason!
They should however still appear in the admin membership area.

I believe I suggested this a long time ago.  Some nasty smutter tries to sign up with an offensive username and it shows up as the newest member even if its disabled.

To be honest I personally do not think removing all trace of them is the best course of action for the software to take. It may be best for you but it won't for everyone.

For example the terminology is Suspended. It could be a few days ban for somebody getting out of hand. I think moderators can suspend people, so removing them from the memberlist would prevent moderators removing the suspension.

If they are using offensive names, it would be better to delete the account and add the username / email address in the blocked list via the Admin area. This would prevent them from signing up again, as well as others who want the offensive name.

Scotty32, I am only saying remove them from the "front end" membership list where everyone can see them and also they should not show in the newest forum member area if they are suspended. They should still show up in the "Admin" area membership list.

I disagree.  Given the current design, I prefer to let the system handle it by just never activating them.  This way, if a bot or actual person tries to register with this same name, its prevented by default, and requires no action whatsoever on my part.  See, Im inherently lazy.  Big smile

I too would like to have the main page show the most recently ACTIVATED new member, not the most recently registered new member.  But I haven't been able to figure out how to implement that mod.

Any idea when it will be let out of the bag?

When it is complete.

Are looking at including a feature to block registrations based on IP country, but to do this would need to setup a GeoIP API running on our servers in order to provide information on the location of the IP address to Web Wiz Forums.

This is still in development at present, but as our main business is providing Cloud Servers and Shared Hosting we have to prioritise development.

If you upgrade to the last 10.18 version members which are suspended or have not activated their accounts will only display to admins and moderators.
