Subject: Migration 9.x -> 10.x - not work with non-English!

Hi All,

I trying to migrate from 9,x version (SQL2008 Express, Win2008 eng) to 10.x (SQL2012 Express, Win 2012 eng)

I have made DB backup, transferred to new server, recovered in SQL console. Checked new DB, see the same language, Russian in settings
Next I used upgrade wizard, which should upgrade 9.x DB to 10.x DB, got message "everything OK"

BUT, in new 10.x forum, I see all Russian characters in "?" symbols only, no any Russian text :(
Could you please help, how we can fix such WebWiz forum issue?

Thank you!

In few words :), how to migrate DB from 9x to 10x, between different SQL servers and keep international characters (Russian) non-broken?

It sounds like a page encoding issue.

Login to the forum admin area and from the General Settings page you can change the page encoding to one that supports Russian.

The issue relates to migrating the database to another server rather than the web wiz forums upgrade.

If you are staying on the same SQL Server then you would not run in to this issue.
