From version 10 onwards you can edit each forum in the admin area and set a default date range for each forum including setting it to 'Any Date' as the default.

You can also within the forum on older versions use the drop down at the top of the forum to select to show topics for  'Any Date' .

Forum Admin / Forum Details / Show Topics in the Last:
setting is on 'Any Date'

I changed this setting to one month and then returned to Any Date.
nothing is changed.
all messages that date up to 4 years are displayed on 25 pages; oldest are hidden. yet they are in the database

Your forum appears to be using an Access database.

Due to the limitations of Access, which is intended for very small forums, it will only display the first 25 pages within any forum. For larger forums you should be using the SQL Server version which has no limitations.

You can click the the Last Post column to switch the direction to see older posts, but in order to have more than 25 pages display you would need to upsize the Access database to SQL Server.

ok for see older posts, thank
I do not understand why you have limited access to 25 pages.
I work with another database access that displays no problem 100, 200 or 500 pages.
know the name of the file to edit this block?

as you do not give me the trick, here for the public:
 in forum_topics.asp line 157:
If strDatabaseType = "Access" Then
intMaxResults = 500
else
intMaxResults = 5000
End If

change by:
If strDatabaseType = "Access" Then
intMaxResults = 5000
else
intMaxResults = 5000
End If

it's perfect !
