I used to administer a forum using WebWiz 8. We did not have picture uploading enabled, but members could always post pictures by pasting the IMG code from photobucket into their post.
I am now running a forum on the latest WebWiz software, and I removed the ability to upload pictures from the starter ladder group, allowing it for all others. But this also seems to have prevented the insertion of pictures from photobucket, as the forum strips the [ IMG ] code from the URL. Is this what is supposed to happen?

However, I have just allowed picture uploading to that group, and the poster still has the problem that the IMG code is being stripped from the URL by the forum. He is using IE, but I don't know which version. I have no problems, but I have deliberately kept my IE to V9.

If you edit the group settings in the admin area you can disable groups from being able to point images and links. This will then convert any images or links to text.

It sounds like you have disabled the starter group from being able to post images in your forum.

If that is in the upload settings section, then that is what I had done, and so I changed it, but the problem still exists in that if trying to post a picture hosted on photobucket the IMG code is being stripped off, and only the URL is displayed in the post. The poster is using IE but I don't yet know which version.

If I then copy the URL from his post, add the IMG code at each end in brackets, and post that, the picture appears fine.

This is not in the upload section.

It is in the Group section. By editing Group details you can change disable forum wide settings such as posting image (not uploading) and posting links in forums.

If you have not disabled the posting of images for the starter group, it could be that they are entering the code incorrectly.

It is much easier to use the WYSIWYG Editor and use the 'Insert Image' http://forums.webwiz.net/forum_images/post_button_image.gif toolbar tool to insert the image in to the post.
