Hi folks,

Could anyone help me up with just one question?

Can I post a message to a forum directly from my person eMail account? Does Web Wiz allow that?

If not, is there any way to build that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Rogerio.

Would theoratically only be possible using the SQL version and having SQLMail configured. Probably you would have to have a dedicated SQL for that...

MSN groups work like this. Basically, you can post via email or via their group. When posting via the group it acts like a message board system. When posting via email, it checks the Subject line against the topics in the database. If the Subject matches a topic in the database, then the message is attached to that topic otherwise a new topic is created. Only members of the group can post in this manner.

It would be possible with a POP3 component and a dedicated email for the Forum, but does has potential abuse problems such as someone joining and flooding the board with posts via email.

It could be possible with the pro version of JMail that can read mail form a pop3 box, but this would take quite a bit of coding to setup, the other problem is that I have never found a web host yet that is running the pro version of JMail so only a very, very, limited number of poeple would ever be able to use such a function.

Then again it would be semi manually as someone would still have to run the asp page to pull mail into the database. I have found some components that do it and depending on your host they could install those. Playing around with SQLMail it does work to post a message but considering all the securit, all the filters bruce created would have to be put into a trigger or so which makes this a very extensive project. Not worth it if you ask me.
