What is a "private groups" at Forum v.7.01? Are there non-ladder groups that I created? And "registered groups" are ladder groups and starting group, ex. Newbie?

If you select private fgroup when setting up a forum, it means that only groups you give permission to will be able to have that right in that forum.

A starting group can be a non-ladder or a ladder group, but that depends on if you use the ladder system or not, or just which group you want new members to be part of.
