I'm using frames: left panel for navigation, right panel for content. If I start RTE (i.e. the default.asp file provided in the distribution v4.16) in a frame, it works fine in Chrome and Firefox but not in IE. If I load that same default.asp in IE directly, ie without frames, it works fine. Problem when using frames is that I don't get focus in the text area and can thus not type any text. If I use the Word insert pop-up, I get the message "error inserting object in current location".

Any pointers as to a fix would be appreciated!

The only pointer can give is to not use frames.

Frames would stop the RTE from working as it would cause issues with the JavaScript.

Frames are rarely used in websites these days as CSS has taken the place of frames in most instances.
