500 error on new install

Subject: 500 error on new install

I just uploaded the newest version to my webhost (Godaddy), and created a blank mysql database. I made sure the database folder has read/write/execute access.

When I go to the forum folder in my browser, I get a 500 error. No install page ever comes up. What else do I need to check?

It maybe that your web host does not support URL Rewriting.

Try removing the forums web.config file and see if it then works.

Also check that you have a Windows web hosting with your host and that it support Classic ASP.

I would also advise using SQL Server for the database backend as mySQL is not as good.

Removing the config file fixed the problem. Thanks! I did switch it to SQL server, took a bit of fiddling to get it working but it's good now, thanks!
