Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has done a recent conversion from MSSQL to MYSQL for the forums database.

I can easily download my MSSQL .bak file and was wondering the best route to converting...

I'm changing hosting companies in the process so it would be easy to take the backup and convert and load into a new database.

I'm planning to use the MYSQL Workbench to do the conversion, but if there are better tools please let me know.

Just wondering if there are any things to watch out for..... or any 'best practices'?

Thanks
Mark

I would highly advise against this as the SQL Server version is not only faster but far more stable than MySQL.

Unless you have absolutely no other choice you should always use the SQL Server version of Web Wiz Forums.

As well as speed and stability issues you will also have other issues as the SQL Server version of Web Wiz Forums uses a Relational Database System, whereas the MySQL version does not.
