Hi there,

I inherited a site that runs on web wiz 9.56a. I'm trying to upgrade it to 12.

The setup today is that all the asp files are in a folder called wwwroot/, and at the top level there is a database called " https://a2nwvpweb123.shr.prod.iad2.secure.net:8443/smb/-manager/list# - mysql5b.appliedi.net.sql"

I'm trying to work out what the details are for the database upgrade. My assumption is that the username/password are just my admin username/password, but i can't work out the following:
1. what database type I have
2. what to put in the server name
3. what to put in the database name field

any suggestions?

The username and password for your database are unlikely to be the same as the forum admin login. Your hosting company should be able to give you the connection details to the database if you are using SQL Server or MySQL.

If you get stuck the database settings are stored in the file below in Web Wiz Forums 9.56a;

\database\database_connection.asp

You can open this file in a text editor such as Notepad and locate the connection details for your database.
