Got a client made the site using an access 2000 database.

Some strange problems are occuring:

Database frequently corrupts
Database permamently split into a *.ldb and *.mdb files

I know access is not designed for web use, I dont really need a lecture on how I should upgrade, going to SQL is too costly, however if you have any other database types you know and have tried in the past that are good and compatable with WW apps please let me know....

Every page load from this site uses around 40-50 SQL queries, a lot I know but its what the client wanted....  Im almost 100% positive im closing and dropping all the objects as well...

Many many thanks for help resolving this issue

There are not so many databse types that are supported by hosts. If he has access to the server make sure that SP3 is installed in case it is W2000. SP2 and below has an issue with Opotunistic locking...

He runs the server himself, so if you have any good databases which are free and suopport WWG apps please tell!

Thanks!

You can download MSDE from http://www.asp.net/webmatrix/download.aspx?tabindex=4 - here  thus you might have it as it comes with Every Office 2000 Prof. and up.
