Apart from they both have a navigation menu on the left in a frame they don't look alike at all, and 99% of sites have navigation menus on the left.

Most of the functions are different in the admin section.

I don't know which came first you would have to check the date that phpBB was started, but this forum sofware has been around in one form or another since May 2001.

I've just downloaed phpBB and compared the two they both have the same left style navigation apart from that they both use different colours have different functions and those functions that are the same like setting up forums and group adminstration are laid out and implemented in completly different ways.

The bad word filter (called word censor in phpBB), the IP banning, and the email members page (called mass email in phpBB), do work in the same way, but then there isn't that many ways to implement these features.

phpBB has 22 functions avialble in the admin section to setup and configure the forum where as Web Wiz Forums has over 27 depending on which version you are using.

Huw you ought to stop implying that this forum was copied from phpBB or snitz or whatever. All these are developed independently. There are only so many ways that you can design a forum, and whatever similarities there are, they are only superficial. If you really want to look for similarities you should check the source code.

its a Message Board... does it really affect your life if it looks like phpBB or not
