Thanks for your help on my earlier issues as my boards are working fine now except fo one problem

  • I have 8 different Forums and one needs to be password protected for access.
    • Everytime I set it up and then try to go log in ittells me the password is incorrect so I can't even get into it.
    • I have deletd it,all cookies in my browser and started over but still have the same problem.
    • If I ever do get it working will I be able to go in and change the forums password?
    • Any one else have this problem?

I am a newbie at all this but am working hard at trying to learn all I can and figure things out before I ask for help.

Much appreciated and thanks.

Tim

Passwords are 160bit encrypted, so make sure you are setting up the password through the admin area.

I have read the documentation that came with the forum and I have set the password through the Admin Area, yet no one can get into it not even the Forum Admin as it keeps saying the password is incorrect.

I had no problems with v6 maybe I will just have to delete the forum as I have worked on this for 5 days now.

Tried that as well.

I can delete the password and open it up to everyone, so it is taking the new submitions when changes are made from the Admin's Forum Administration page.

Still won't take.

Thank you though for the reply and tip.

It is frustrating me, to the point I even forgot to Thank You in the post above.

It is much appreciated.

Hi TimD,

I've been playing with the forum lately, and had the same problem.  Turns out the forum admin section will let you add a forum password that contains many characters, but the password prompt input box has a limit of 15 characters.  If you make a password longer than 15 characters, you get the message...
