Something weird happens when a tiff image is uploaded to my server. The upload process goes well and the file is there in the upload folder, but when I view the post the extension tiff of the link the picture should have is gone.

It shows a broken image instead.

Don't know if this is an error on my part or not.

Same happens when I just link a tiff image...in the preview before posting it shows up, when posted the image is broken. Here is a test.

Tiff images are not supported by the forum. Only .gif, .jpg, .bmp and .png.

Why tiffs are not supported..? Is there any security issues or something with them..? I can get them to work by adding OR ImageFileExtension = ".tif"  to line 227 on functions_filters.asp...

Only web image formats are supported, things like .tiff's are not used on the Internet as some browsers can not display them and also the file size of .tiff's are very large compared with compressed formats like jpeg and gifs.

You would be better compressing your images into a jpeg or gif format.
