I am worryied about this database exploit. WWForums can be easily hacked by almost anyone if they know where to look. I tried to change the name of my mdb file and I changed the name in the common.asp file, but I get a 500 error when I try to load my default.asp page...

Turn off firendly HTTP error messages in IE and you will see what the error is.

Also make sure you have changed the name in both common.asp files.
