Hello,

My forum is used for subscribers and i update the forum database after they place an order to purchase a subscription.

I want to check that the yare paid up subscribers when they login. Which script do I need to look in and alter to only allow them access if tehy are current.

Like a check for qactive I guess. But I ned to check against the date in teh databse and current date.

Rather than checking the database for the date, you should keep track of when they subscribed and the length of the subscription. After the subscription period has passed just set their membership to inactive.

It has the same outcome, but the procedure it simpler because you are using the forum to do what it already does (check for active accounts) without the need to rewrite it to check for a time span.

yes I  see what you mean but that wont work here because their are many forums which have their own subscription to access so if they are not current in one (inactive) they may still be active on another forum within the same database

check this out to see what I mean. All the main Forum headings can be subscribed to separately.

Ah, so they have access to different forums within on the boards based upon what subscription they have paid for?

I assume that you are using the user permission that is built into the forum to manage a user's ability to access the forum. Assuming that, then I would keep track of the subscription length for each forum and when that subscription period has expired remove their permissions from that group. It's the same premise as I mentioned before but you are automating the removal from tblPermissions table rather than updating tblAuthor.
