How can I keep people from linking to images on my server from the outside..? What I want to do is what Tripod and I think Brinkster does that if you try to link to an image hosted on their server it'll just display a lil' image that says "Image Hosted by Tripod"...... Anyone knows how can I accomplish that..?

Thanks in advance.

<edit> I'm running a Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4

Perhaps a component?

The only thing I can think of is to create a DLL that will execute all the images, and if the calling page isn't local, then return garbage, and if not, return the image. Perhaps a bit intensive though, and I don't know how to do that. :(

there can be a way doin that using global.asa or some folder.hta file  just like there is a way to do that using .htaaccess in apache

thanks for the suggestions, i did a search about global.asa and came up with a few plain ASP alternatives but they where all about storing the images in a folder outside the web root and use a script as a proxy to get the images, that's not really a solution to my problem because i got too many images and mainly i'm not really trying to protect the images i have but trying to keep users from uploading images to the forums and hotlinking to them..............

.........well anyways i found this free open source ASAPI filter that does exactly what i need, here's the link in case anyone else needs it: http://www.michaelbrumm.com/leechblocker.html - http://www.michaelbrumm.com/leechblocker.html
