I am trying to set up the forums and have a few questions.

I am running this on win2003 server which is also an exchange 2003 server.

when a user registers when the sendmail.asp function tries to send the mail this is returned to the user

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 8007007e'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/thearea/forum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 154

so obviously i have not configured the sendmail.asp function correctly for cdonts.

Does anyone know if cdonts is active by default on win2003 and if not how can i check or set it up.

The ohter issue is that once i get this working , what do i have to change to have the email contain the correct url back to the activate

The error means that the component you are trying to use is not installed.

CDONTS should be installed on Win2003, but you could try reinstalling it, there are quite a few places on the net if you do a search on google to get the CDONTS dll from, or you could use CDOSYS.

The path back to the forum for your web site is setup in the admin area.
