Is it possible yet to add a sub forum within another forum catogory?

If this isnt possible it is possible to use multiple forums that a single user can log onto without having to register each time... perhaps using a common file.

I want to set up a zoological database and using sub forums would aid this greatly.

Any ideas?

Subforums are currently not supported though you could upload to forums and make the tblAuthor in one database a linked table to the other. I have not tried it but don't see whay it would not work. Every change made in one tblAuthor would be replicated to the other then. Be careful with the links when doing that. Again, I have not tried it so might not work but worth a try.

Thanks for the reply. I might try some kind of index page running multiple forums. It will be a zoological site with many many catogories.

So a sperate forum for each major classification might be my best route.

However would each forum require seperate login credentials? Is it possible to have a single login for multiple forums? I would assume it isn't but worth asking.

If you're using the MS SQL version is pretty simple, just delete tblAuthor, tblGroup, tblPMMessages, and tblBuddyList (or whatever they're called), on the second forum and replace them with views to the other table...

I have 2 forums on the same db like that, i use one as a forum and the other one as a backend for my articles section......

Thanks for the swift response. I will come back to you on that. I need to get the basic design up and running and work on the exact mechanics. I also need to see if my server supports that database.

If I am correct. You are suggesting that I create, say, a HTML written view of the forum links and post as a header or footer to the main forum. Then the links will take the user in on the same login name? As for the editing of the code, I will come back to you when I am nearer the run time of the project. As usual have a big backlog of other peoples stuff to do before mine.

But thanks for your input all the same.
