I just was wondering how far can you take the WWF using an access db before it will encounter problems? I am asking in terms of how many members would be the limit and how big of a size for the db would be the limit. So far I have an access db running 135 members with about 1700 posts in a 2.28 MB db.

The database size shouldn't really become a problem at some point to will have more concurrent connections than Access can handle which will cause a boards to slow down. The size will only become a problem because larger Access DB are more prone to becoming corrupt.

If speed is a concern then you should be running SQL Server.

I haven't had any problems with speed so far, and I have seen as many as 10-15 people on the forum at one time and no problems yet. I am just concerned about the database becoming corrupt as it grows. I do make a backup at least once a week and compact it also once a week. That should help I think.

Anyone else using an Access db driven WebWiz Forum with a large group? It would be encouraging to hear from people with a busy access db board that works great!
