Hi,

I'm a C# programmer. Can any one tell me how to retrieve the database vendor name(like msaccess, mssql) from the connectionstring itself. I donot  wont any hardcorded values.

According to  my requirements I'm using OleDbConnection class for building the connection.

Advance Thanks

well you could do a string search for PROVIDER= but I don't understand what you would need this for..

what you've said doesn't make sense.  What do you want it for?
