I was hoping that moderators would be able to determine whether postings should be made public - ie not a retrospective delete or edit.

Is this possible?

And curb freedom of speech? mmmmm, forums are for debate, opinion and asking, if you want to control what is asked or stated then dont have one full stop.

Actually, free speech hardly ever exists on forums anyway - the admin / moderators can delete what they deem inappropriate. I know I have a statement in my forum rules to the effect that free speech doesn't exist because it is a privately owned and operated board.

And as for the original question, I don't think there is a way.
