Ok...  let's start off with just saying that I am an ASP dummy.  Now that we have that out of the way we can move on to my question.  I am currently in the process of building a retail website that offers products from a single vendor.  The vendors price list, stock on hand, and product descriptions are available in a downloadable Excel spread sheet that is updated every day.

What I would like to do is design my website so that it will get the price from the spread sheet automatically to cut out some of the hasles with having to constantly update prices and stock on hand.  I know the company uses asp and they pull their information from this same spread sheet since all the product descriptions are .html coded.  What I need to know is what application should I be using to develop the code for my website.  The vendors website was written in Microsoft Visual Studio 6.  I haven't looked at this application yet so I don't know if this application will work or not for what I am wanting to do.

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.  And when I say any help, I mean ANY help.  Perhaps even some literature or something to read up on the subject would be nice.
