To recreate use the access version of the forums. Verify that you are using the Microsoft Access Driver for your strCon. Login as admin and select Group Permissions Admin. Then Click the Edit or Create Group Permissions button. Next click the Create New Forum Permissions for User Groups button and attempt to create a new permission set.
You should get the error:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e21'
Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.

Now switch to the Jet 4.0 dirver and try to recreate the error. Be sure to create your new permission set on a different forum as the errored attempt leaves bad data in the database that must be removed by hand.
Can I get a confirmation on this from someone not using a upgraded db?

Havne't seen this on a clean install, but it looks like a field size is to small, check the line for the field it is refering to and increase the size in the db.

I'll check into that borg. Odd that it would work fine with the jet 4.0 driver though...

had a user find it for me. I had Group_ID in tblPermission set to Auto Increment. doh!@
