Is this just a recipe for disater?
I got the forums to work just fine, and the database is actually in the real database directory, outside my webroot.
It was fairly slow from the beginning (two weeks ago). But now we have almost 450 members, and the database is up to 6mb. And it is SLOW. Sometimes it just doesn't come up at all.
I contacted Brinkster, and they told me to use SQL. So I signed up for that, but I can't get it to work. I've verified with Enterprise manager that my database is there, and the username and password work fine to manually create tables. I've put all this information in the following files:
SQL_server_connection.asp in the admin directory msSQL_server_setup.asp in the forum directory
I still get this error while trying to log in with the MsSQL_server_setup.asp page:
|
************************** Error Connecting to database on SQL Server
Check the following is set up and correct:-
SQL Server User Name SQL Server Password Name of the SQL Server Database name set up by you on the server Empty Database set up by you on the SQL Server
Check also that you have entered the correct details in the file 'SQL_server_connection.asp' found in the admin directory.
**************************
I've checked all my info, and I have the database name, the username and the password correct. for the server name, I just put in the ip address of the sql server. This works with enterprise manager.
Any tips? And if possible, don't tell me to move to another host. I don't have the time.
Has anyone else had speed issues using the Access version of WWF?
Thanks so much all... and Thanks for SUCH a great product!
