Ive tried to filter out these characters

@!#%^&*( )+=<>?/ \

on the register.asp form for the user name textbox and I'm stuck

I keep getting an error for password on line 821 cannot contain null

Bruce or anyone know exactly how to do this on the register.asp page and make it work.

java is what I have been trying along with every way I know possible with no luck I probably feel stupid when someone shows me how to do this I'm exhausted

Thanx a million

Well all I could Figure out was to null each character and show that those characters are not allowed next to the textbox it will work for now. If anyone has a better way please let me know!

I was hoping for an error pop up stating that those were not allowed but if they enter a null character it just doesnt submit and leaves the form as is! And it doesnt tell them whats wrong with the form

Use JavaScript and look up regular experssions on google which can be used with JavaScript to detect certain characters.
