i have a database (SQL 2000) which has data of prospective users, with fields user name and passwd. I have a form to allow the users create user accounts. A user will be allowed to create an account only when the user name used exists in the SQL 2000 database. Any code that can help me?

Take the tutorials you can find on this site, it should give you a nice walkthrough on how to do this stuff.
