Subject: Editing files with FSO?? Please help!

Hello! I would really appreciate it if anyone could post a code for editing files using FileSystemObject...

I have a kind of a configuration file that contains all kinds of important variables (it works like WWG's common.asp), and I want to be able to edit it online to change those variables.

Thanks in advance!

FSO Code Examples: http://www.aspfaqs.com/aspfaqs/ShowCategory.asp?CatID=4 -

and for what you propose, FSO is totally not the correct way to go.... as its a major pain to do anything in the middle of the file......

maybe use an XML doc to hold the values you need to hold (or better yet a database)

What do you mean by XML? I'm not very experienced with that type of documents (I know only the basics of it).

P.S.
I already found a tutorial for FSO in this site: http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/faq/FileSystemobject/faq3.shtml - http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/faq/FileSystemObject/faq3.shtml

You can use the text stream object to read the file and show it in a normal textarea box and re-update it. Is should be simple.
